overview
Web 3.0 is the third generation of the internet and it's built on the philosophy that the internet should be a decentralised network of computers rather than a centralised one. This means that there is no single point of failure and no central authority controlling the flow of information. Though still in its early stages of adoption by the general public, enterprises need to consider how they can use Web 3.0 to create a competitive advantage as we approach this new digital economy. Companies such as DBS, Ferrari, Nike, and Red Bull have already advertised themselves in virtual worlds to generate awareness and excitement for their products. As the technology matures, many other industries will likely begin to explore and implement Web 3.0 use cases to create new value for their businesses.
Jointly offered by SMU Academy and TechFin Consulting, this certificate programme aims to provide a deeper understanding of Web 3.0 and the Metaverse and offer participants a glimpse of the emerging future of the Web and the way we will interact with it. It will enable participants to comprehend Web 3.0 and the Metaverse in a more effective manner, giving them a significant advantage in the newly emerging digital world.
